Is perl6 suitable for new code?

Asked by Anonymous on 16th Sep 2011 14:41

I am about to start a brand new project and would like to know whether I should go with perl5 or perl6? Which would you recommend for reliability, speed, etc.?

Currently (as of September 2011) perl5 is recommended for projects which have reliability as a criterion since development of perl6 is very much ongoing and changes may be introduced to the language as part of that process which may not be backwards compatible.

If you stick to perl5 you should have no such compatibility issues.
